The American star suffers from aphasia, a condition that affects the ability to speak, write and understand both oral and written language.
His wife posted a photo of her and her star husband, smiling, in the forest.
It can appear following a trauma or stroke and damage the brain. The lesions can resolve but in all cases the recovery process is very slow.
“Our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. Therefore, and following careful consideration, Bruce is stepping down from this career that meant so much to him,” the actor’s family announced on March 30.
