PICTURES | Shooting forces eastbound A-40 to temporarily close

A shooting that injured one person forced the closure for a few hours of Highway 40 eastbound at Lacordaire Boulevard in Montreal on Friday morning.

It all started when police officers from the Sûreté du Québec were called to go to kilometer 78 of Highway 40 for possible gunshots heard around 2:45 a.m. in the area.

When they arrived at the scene, they located a man hit by one or more projectiles from a firearm, according to a police spokeswoman who did not specify whether the victim was in his vehicle.

Transported to a hospital, the victim, whose age has not been revealed, is in stable condition and there is no fear for his life, said Marythé Bolduc of the SQ who did not want to give more details. details, on the pretext that the investigation is still ongoing.
