The singer Camila Cabello has not hesitated to make very clear references to her controversial departure from the Fifth Harmony group, which occurred in 2016, in her new song ‘Psychofreak’. In more concrete ways, the pop star has wanted to settle the rumors that have been pointing to the supposed bad relationship that would exist between its members, whom in reality the interpreter “does not blame” for the dissolution of the band.
“Everyone says they miss the old me / But I’ve been on this journey since I was 15. I don’t blame the girls for what happened,” reads a verse from the new song by the Cuban-born artist, who she had certainly made it abundantly clear in previous interviews that her personal bond with Dinah Jane, Normani, Ally Brooke and Lauren Jauregui is much more cordial than some realize.
Although the passing of the years and the way in which their professional paths separated logically cooled their friendship, the truth is that Camila already made it clear at the time that resentment and bad wishes have never had a place in the general dynamics of the former members of the band, neither during the time of Fifth Harmony nor in the stage immediately following the disappearance of the group.
“I’ve never liked drama or conflict. I feel like we’re in a good spot, me and the girls. I saw Normani at the Billboard gala and we caught up. I told her I was really happy for her. No I remember when was the last time I saw the others, but I think time has passed and we see things from a distance. We get along well and we don’t have time for these kinds of rumors,” Camila said in 2018.
