Windows 11 build 22593 is available on Dev and Beta channels. The OS offers improvements, fixes and some new features. We also have known issues.
Microsoft explains that Chinese users who are part of the Windows Insider program are affected by a concern. If a Preview of Windows 11 is installed on a Lenovo PC, the Windows Update service will no longer offer new versions.
Windows 11 build 22593, some pesky bugs
A warning is raised around an issue affecting Windows 10 users. The giant explains
“PCs running Windows 10 that join the Dev or Beta channels to get the latest builds may encounter download error code 0xc8000402 when trying to download the latest build. As a workaround, join the Release Preview channel first, install Windows 11 from there (Build 22000.xxxx), then switch to the Dev or Beta channel to receive the latest Preview build. This issue will be resolved in a future release. “
At the same time, a failure caused an explorer.exe crash. An investigation is underway. Improvements are offered by this build 22593 but the bug still exists for some users.
“We are investigating reports that a few users have encountered an issue where explorer.exe gets stuck in an infinite loop and cannot load successfully. This release includes a mitigation that may resolve some situations.”
We also have issues with the taskbar, File Explorer, and Widgets module. They are considered minors.
