Max Verstappen “Enjoying the Battle with Leclerc” / Red Bull Racing F1 Australian Grand Prix Preview[F1-Gate .com]

Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) talks regarding his enthusiasm for the 2022 F1 Round 3 Australian Grand Prix

Since the last event in Melbourne in 2019, the Albert Park Circuit has undergone some changes and many corners have been expanded to facilitate overtaking.

In addition, the slow chicane that previously made up turns 9 and 10 has been removed, creating another DRS straight available to the driver.

Max Verstappen, who has won one podium in Australia, will enter the round as the latest race winner following defeating Charles Leclerc in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago.

Max Verstappen says he hopes that Albert Park’s circuit layout changes will “make a pretty big difference” this weekend.

“I’m really looking forward to racing once more in Australia, it’s been a while!” Said Max Verstappen.

“The place is always very nice. It’s interesting to see the track updates. I think it makes a pretty big difference, especially on turn 6 where the most important changes were made.”

“Now there should be more opportunities for overtaking, which is always positive. It’s interesting to see how cars work in Australia. Trucks can sometimes be quite dusty.”

“I’m enjoying the battle with Charles (Leclerc). It’s not easy to overtake him, so let’s see what happens this weekend.”

“I hope we can have a smooth weekend once more as a team.”

Red Bull Racing has only won one victory at the Australian Grand Prix with former F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel in 2011.

Max Verstappen is currently in third place in the Drivers’ Championship, 20 points below leader Charles Leclerc.
