Torrential rains of up to 50 millimeters in places are expected by Friday in southern Quebec, while the center and northeast of the province will be affected by a snowstorm.
Environment Canada forecasts a total of 15 to 25 millimeters, even 50 millimeters of rain, for the sectors of the Outaouais Valley, Montreal, Montérégie, Estrie, Mauricie and Beauce, with a risk of flash floods by locations.
In Quebec and the northern sectors, winter does not seem to be over, since the federal agency forecasts 25 to 35 centimeters of snow, thus complicating road conditions and making travel difficult.
A special weather report has also been issued for the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Côte-Nord sectors as well as the Laurentides wildlife reserve with accumulations of snow mixed with rain.
The east of the province, in particular the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie, is spared by the storm, while sunny weather will be in effect by Friday, even if the temperatures will be significantly lower.
