Al-Marsad newspaper: A Russian mother killed her son and tried to kill the other for fear of being harmed, according to her claim, in light of the repercussions of the Russian war on Ukraine.
Ventalia Hitchcock, 41, who lives in the US state of Wisconsin, has pleaded guilty to the gruesome murder and pleaded for her husband’s forgiveness.
According to the investigations, in the last weeks, before the crime was committed on March 30, she was following news reports regarding the war in Ukraine, and she was experiencing waves of anger, and this anger was inflamed more with her drinking excessive “vodka”, according to the testimony of her husband.
It developed with Ventalia as she was frustrated at not being able to go to Russia to see her mother who lives there, and was afraid that “people from another city would come and attack them” because of the war in Ukraine.
On the night of March 30, she committed her heinous crime, first trying to drown her 11-year-old son in the bathroom before turning to her other son, “Oliver”, 8.
The father said that his son woke him from his sleep to inform him that Oliver had “died” in the bedroom following he saw him lying on the floor while the mother was sitting on the bed with a large knife in her hand. He called emergency services, was rushed to the hospital and died there two days later.
