In this surprise announcement, we learn that the Remedy studio will work under Rockstar thanks to a new publishing agreement that will bring back the first two Max Payne games in remakes. The Remedy studio will take care of the development of these new AAA games, while Rockstar will finance the project.
These remakes should reflect the spirit of the originals well, since Max Payne 1 and 2 were also developed by Remedy and published by Rockstar. Max Payne 3, meanwhile, had been an all-Rockstar production.
Max Payne has always held a special place in everyone’s hearts at Remedy and we know millions of fans around the world feel the same.» mentions the PDG de Remedy, Tero Virtala.
