Game news Ghost Recon: Does the end of Breakpoint announce the arrival of a new episode? Several clues
Only a few hours ago, Ubisoft announced that Ghost Recon Breakpoint would no longer receive an update following three years of good and loyal service. It would seem that this unfortunate news hides another much more satisfying one.
A new adventure for the Ghosts?
Definitely, for a few days now, the Ghost Recon saga hasn’t stopped talking regarding it. After the first mixed reviews on Ghost Recon FrontlineBattle Royale with Ghost Recon sauce, stopping the addition of content for Ghost Recon Breakpoint and the announcement on NFT of gaming, the video game series born in 2001 is once once more coming back to the fore.
Selon Kotaku, Ubisoft Paris is reportedly working on a brand new Ghost Recon opus, which is not the famous Ghost Recon Frontline, but a brand new production.
AAA in preparation?
This brand new opus would currently be codenamed OVER; a code name which, moreover, had already been seen last year on the side of NVIDIA. This famous OVER therefore would have started its development more than a year ago already and would be a triple A, that is to say a big production like that of Ghost Recon Breakpoint or Advance Warfighter 2.
Better, even if this project is still very mysterious, it might be that the title already has a release window. In other words, it would be scheduled to be released during the fiscal year 2023 which spans the period from April 2023 to March 2024. In other words, you will have to be patient.
The fate of Ghost Recon Frontline at stake?
As we said at the beginning of the article, Ghost Recon Frontline did not have the most positive reception when it was announced and its first feedback is mixed to say the least. Indeed, on January 31, insider Tom Henderson, whose reputation is second to none, had reported that this Ghost Recon Frontline was far too close to Call of Duty: Warzone.
Moreover, still according to Kotaku, following these many negative reactions, it might be that the Ghost Recon Frontline project will not be released anytime soon. Ubisoft would have actually decided to backtrack. The FPS would even be being reset. OVER might therefore be released before Ghost Recon Frontline.
Of course, all this information should be taken with a grain of salt since nothing has been officially announced by Ubisoft.
