Hospital Clínico de los Trabajadores de Guayana implements a program of surgical days

The Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana advances in the strengthening of the new health management model for the benefit of the working class, by expanding the scope of medical services available to them, with the implementation of the Surgical Days Program, aimed at the workforce active, as well as pensioned and retired staff, and their families.

The beginning of this plan dates from the month of October 2021, when the first surgeries were carried out, and it has recently been resumed with greater effort to attend to health cases that require prompt resolution, and, therefore, improve the quality of life of patients. received at the Hospital Clínico de los Trabajadores de Guayana, which is part of the human-social guidelines of the president of CVG, Pedro Maldonado.

Currently, the procedures are carried out by the professional medical team of the governing body at the facilities of the Hospital Dr. Américo Babó of CVG Ferrominera Orinoco, this alliance being important to ensure the intervention of an approximate monthly of 200 patients, ranging from pediatric surgery , to general surgery for adults and specialties such as obstetrics-gynecology, traumatology, urology, ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology.

The information was released by doctors Marcelo Storino and Sabas Bello, General Health Manager of CVG and director of the Guayana Workers’ Clinical Hospital, respectively, who stressed that “these sessions, from the elective point of view, are the most effective decision for surgical diagnoses, according to the criteria previously evaluated in the hospital that serves our workers, and allow the intervention of at least eight patients per day to be scheduled”.

Similarly, they thanked the support provided by the supervised company CVG Ferrominera Orinoco, through its hospital complex. “Having the collaboration of our colleagues in the iron industry, by facilitating access to their pavilion and supporting us with nursing staff, is a great support to provide the best support to workers and families who are in need of surgical aid. Meanwhile, we continue to work on the significant advances in the Guayana Workers’ Clinical Hospital, a project that has been an initiative of the president of CVG, and which in the future will have its respective emergency areas and operating rooms, to increase our radius of action and continue protecting lives”, concluded the doctors.
