Czech Republic delivered T-72 tanks to Ukraine

Ondrej Benesik, head of the parliamentary committee for European affairs of the Czech Republic, said on Tuesday that the country had delivered T-72 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported.

“Defense Minister Yana Chernokhova deserves great praise,” Benesik wrote on the social network.

According to him, tanks and infantry fighting vehicles are exactly what the hard-fighting Ukrainian army really needs now.

He expressed the hope that “it will be possible to continue these deliveries.”

Chernokhova did not confirm the supply of tanks and military vehicles to Ukraine.

“Curiosity is inherent in people, and I understand those who want to know what we supply to Ukraine,” the head of the Czech Defense Ministry wrote on the same social network. She apologized and said: “…I can’t say anything more.”

But she added: “Believe me… we are sending basic military materials to our Ukrainian friends. And we will continue to do so.”

The T-72, the most massive post-war Soviet tank, was supplied to the Warsaw Pact countries, including Czechoslovakia.
