– Near parity between the Swiss franc and the euro: until when?
Beneficial for individuals on both sides of the border, the situation might last as long as the war in Ukraine.
Since the beginning of February, there has been euphoria in the wallets of Swiss consumers for their purchases, leisure and holidays in Europe, and for the wages of European cross-border workers in our country.
Indeed, the Swiss franc and the euro are almost equal. 1is April followingnoon, at interbank rate (read texts below), 1 euro was worth 1.02 Swiss francs (see graph below). Better, at the beginning of March, the two currencies reached parity, 1 euro being worth 1 franc. Unheard of since mid-January 2015, when the value of the euro once morest the franc had even temporarily become negative, 1 euro being worth less than 1 franc, following the decision of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) to abolish the rate floor between these two currencies.
