Windows spring cleaning promotion, but the official picture is an iMac – Qooah

According to 9To5Mac, Microsoft posted a tweet on its official Windows Twitter account on March 30, 2022. The tweet had to be accompanied by a picture of an Apple M1 iMac, but it was deleted shortly following. This tweet, posted on Twitter on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, includes a link to an article regarding tips from a Microsoft executive to help users clean their computers.

The tweet read, “Spring cleaning? Check out these tips from Microsoft’s Carmen Zlateff on how to clean and run your device safely and smoothly.” But what the employee who sent the tweet didn’t realize was that the tweet featured an iMac, not a Windows PC. However, the folks at the official Windows Twitter may not realize that this is an Apple product, and the M1 iMac that runs Windows natively via BootCamp is still not available. After the tweet was subsequently shared, it sparked ridicule from many netizens, and Microsoft finally deleted it a few hours later.

In fact, it is not the first time for this kind of “swinging an oolong”. A few years ago, Samsung’s official Twitter account was spotted using an iPhone to tweet regarding the Galaxy Note 9, and the tweet was immediately deleted.

For a brand, this kind of thing is deadly, because you are promoting your own products, but you use pictures from other brands, which is undoubtedly the default product is not as good as others. Therefore, when doing publicity, it is best to find a professional person to handle it, so as to avoid any mistakes.
