SilkSonic’s “Live the Door Open” won Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards for music held in Las Vegas on Sunday following being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jazz musician John Baptiste won four awards. Among the awards won by Batiste, who is nominated for eleven awards, was Best Music Video for the song “Freedom” (Freedom).
“I am so grateful for the gifts that God has given me and the ability to share them for the love of humanity,” Baptiste said upon receiving the award.
Batiste’s “Cry” “Scream” won Best Performance and Best American Roots Song. It also participated in winning the award for best soundtrack for visual media, for composing and distributing the music for the movie (Soul) “Soul”.
The awards ceremony was postponed from January due to a spike in COVID-19 cases and was moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
