Al-Azhar Sheikh: History has not told us that anyone called himself “God or the Most Gracious.”

His Eminence the Great Imam, Dr Ahmed El tayeb The Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, that there is a subtle and huge difference between giving the name to God and giving the name to the servant, explaining that this common section of the names that are given to God and called by God Almighty as a matter of fact, while the servant is called by the same name as a metaphor.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb added, during the “Imam Al-Tayyib” program, broadcast on Al-Hayat channel, that there are two names that belong to our Lord Almighty, and they are God and the Most Merciful, as no one is called by them at all, continuing: Only God Almighty, but the rest of the 99 names are called by them. Like al-Razzaq, al-Sabur, and others, it is possible to participate in it in the wording and not in the full meaning.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb continued: “History did not tell us that anyone named himself God or the Most Gracious. It is possible that he is called a Lord or a God, but it has not been reported to us that anyone has been called by the name of God, for God Almighty preserves this name and does not descend to the creatures, continuing: The Most Merciful did not He is distinguished by one, and only one dared to call himself that, and he was Musaylimah Rahman, and he named himself Rahman al-Yamamah.. God decreed that he should stick his name to a liar so that in history he would be known as Musaylimah the liar.
