Vahid Halilhodzic responds to Jérôme Rothen, “He didn’t take his drugs”

Vahid Halilhodzic, 69, is too talkative when addressing the press in his country. The Atlas Lions coach has responded to his critics following the World Cup draw.

Former France international and Paris Saint-Germain player Jérôme Rothen gets more fired up when he talks regarding Vahid Halilhodzic or assesses his work. For him, Vahid has totally outdated dictatorial methods.

When questioned regarding Vahid Halilhodzic, Jérôme Rothen remains very critical. Even following Morocco qualified for the 2022 World Cup. “He doesn’t trust his staff. With all the tools we have today, you can’t fail to trust the people on your staff. You can’t handle everything,” Rothen pointed out last Thursday on his show, “Rothen s’ignite” on RMC.

« You also have to be a good psychologist with the players. That’s all Vahid isn’t. It was locked up in the 90s, and it doesn’t work anymore. He is able to deprive himself of one of his best players (Ziyech) for incompatibility of temper. And then he does not even calculate his assistants. It is reality. His assistants are there to place the cones… When you are dragged by this kind of character, you are tired.«

Vahid Halilhodzic’s short answer

Vaha commented briefly on Rothen’s criticism in his now familiar style. ” I guess he hasn’t taken his dope in a long time, so he’s talking nonsense“, replied Halilhodzic in the mixed media zone in Doha.

And Hakim Ziyech?

When asked if he would forgive the Den’s biggest star, Hakim Ziyech, without securing him a World Cup spot, the current Den boss merely waved his hand to say, “No comment”.
