Fuel depot fire could affect Russian supplies

For its part, the Kremlin said Friday that the strike by Ukrainian helicopters, according to Moscow, on a fuel tank in Russia, would hinder peace talks between the two countries. “It is clear that we cannot provide adequate conditions for the continuation of negotiations,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said following a fuel tank in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine was hit at dawn on Friday.

Kyiv has so far declined to comment on the process immediately.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced on Friday morning that Ukrainian helicopters had struck a fuel depot in the town of Belgorod, forty kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

But the Russian company “Rosneft”, which owns the fuel depot, said in a separate statement that the fire did not result in injuries, without giving any information regarding its cause.

The city is located regarding 80 kilometers north of Kharkiv, which has been resisting the Russian attack since the start of the war on February 24.
