The report states that Sri Lankans are furious following the fire was cut. There was a shortage of essential food items and medicines, but dissatisfaction grew following Sri Lankan President Kotphaya Rajapaksa. and the Cabinet is exempt from cutting the power while Mr Rajapaksa blamed the protesters’ actions as extremist behavior.
Sri Lanka has a shortage of fuel. This is because there are not enough dollars to buy it to import diesel fuel to fuel vehicles or even generate electricity. This made the Sri Lanka Electricity Board to cut the power for a longer period of time. And it is expected that electricity will be cut to 16 hours per day in the next few days.
