Horizon: Forbidden West has benefited from a new patch in recent days, and the associated fixes will delight more than one player. These include changes to the Notebook which can now be filled to 100%, and improvements to the graphics to reduce flickering and increase sharpness. We let you discover the rest!

Key Changes in Horizon: Forbidden West Update 1.09

Patch 1.09 of Horizon : Forbidden West was rolled out recently, and it brings with it some notable fixes. With this update, many issues related to side quests have been resolved, including major collision issues where allies, enemies, and even Aloy might get stuck behind props or in areas usually out of reach. You will no longer get stuck under terrain following loading a save at Rebel Camp Primeforge, and Aloy will no longer get stuck during animations related to the Colleague and Key recovery contract.

Completionists will be happy to hear that a bug preventing 100% Gradebook completion has finally been fixed! Additionally, waiting time during loading screens has been reduced significantly, and many instances of crashes have been fixed. At last, this patch brings significant improvements in terms of graphics, especially when it comes to flicker and sharpness. Known issues

We are currently investigating several issues reported by the community. Please note that these issues are not yet fixed in this patch, but please know that our teams are aware of them and are investigating them.

  • The team continues to make adjustments to game content in an effort to reduce visual flicker.
  • During the side quest “The red plague“, Atekka does not use the ballista.
  • The “Upgrade Each Pocket Type” trophy is not unlocking for some players following upgrading each pocket type – please note that for this trophy you need to have the food pocket which is collected following buying food from a chief.
  • Some Flamegems and Metal Flower icons remain following being found/used.

  • Fixed an issue with the main quest”The dying lands“where the machines remained locked behind an energy shield.
  • Fixed an issue with the main quest”The fractured sky“where the player might get stuck in an invisible collision.
  • Fixed an issue with the main quest”The fractured skywhere Dekka stood behind the throne and might not be contacted.

Side quests

  • Fixed an issue with the side quest “second versewhere Zo wasn’t in Melopee following completing all the main quests.
  • Fixed an issue with the side quest “Sunken Hopewhere the player might clear rocks on the wrong side, interrupting progress.
  • Fixed an issue with the side quest “The floodwhere Aloy might get stuck in the ground underwater following destroying the Gemflame.
  • Fixed an issue with the side quest “The flood“where Scuttlers might get stuck in a wall, out of Aloy’s reach.
  • Fixed an issue with the side quest “thirst for hunting” where the quest was not updating following killing the Stormjaw.
  • Fixed an issue with the “Noble Ambitions” side quest where Morlund might get stuck in a rock, leaving Aloy to face the Stormbird alone while he cheered her on from a safe location.
  • Fixed an issue with the side quest “In the fog“where the tombstone might not be found in the scrap heaps.
  • Fixed an issue where, when switching between the side quest “What was lost” and the personal service “First flight”, it was impossible to interact with Kotallo.
  • Fixed issue with personal service”Delivery“where Littay was stuck under the pitch.
  • Fixed an issue with the Personal Service “A Shining Example” where the player might block progress by destroying Metal Flower Vines before the “Destroy Metal Flower Vines” mission objective appeared .
  • Fixed an issue with the Personal Service “Data of the Sons of Prometheus” where enemies have taken the term “ghost” to the next level and are no longer visible following death.

  • Fixed issues when remapping specific buttons.

  • Additional flicker and sharpness improvements.

Performance and stability

  • Reduced loading screens.

  • Fixed several issues that prevented 100% game completion in the Gradebook. Completers rejoice!
  • Fixed several issues where players might escape from a boss fight with a mount.
  • Fixed an issue where the hunter kit customization would not persist following restarting the save.
