The statement said, “We need to correct the biased broadcasting over the past five years and liquidate personnel from the KBS headquarters (2 unions), a media union under the National Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU). said. The statement continued, “If we do not apologize for biased broadcasting and dismiss executives from the 2nd union during this month, the thesis that the president’s tenure is guaranteed cannot be applied.” President Kim, who took office in December last year, has a term of three years.
Previously, KBS went on strike following the inauguration of the Moon Jae-in government in 2017, demanding the resignation of then President Ko Dae-young, who was appointed by former President Park Geun-hye. After that, Koh was dismissed by the KBS Board of Directors resolution.
Meanwhile, the Korea Broadcasting Association announced on the same day that it had appointed President Kim as the 25th president. The term of office is two years.
