Saudi Arabia announces Saturday the first day of Ramadan

The Saudi Royal Court announced that tomorrow, Saturday, is the first day of the holy month in the Kingdom, following the Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia confirmed that the crescent of Ramadan was sighted.

The announcement came following the Crescent Department of the Supreme Court held a session this evening, Friday, the 29th of Sha’ban, to consider its response regarding the sighting of the crescent of the month of Ramadan for this year.

She added that following reviewing, looking at and reflecting on all that was reported, and following a number of witnesses witnessed the sighting of the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan this night, the department decided that tomorrow, Saturday, 9/1/1443 AH – according to the Umm al-Qura calendar – corresponding to April 2, 2021 AD, is the start of the month. The blessed Ramadan for this year 1443 AH.

In turn, the Supreme Court congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, all citizens and residents, and all Muslims on the holy month.

The United Arab Emirates also announced that tomorrow, Saturday, is the first day of the month of Ramadan.

It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court called on all Muslims in all parts of the Kingdom to investigate the sighting of the crescent of the month of Ramadan 1443 this Friday evening.

The Supreme Court also called on whoever sees it with the naked eye or through endoscopes to inform the nearest court to him, record his testimony to it, or contact the nearest center to help him reach the nearest court.
