Shinji Mikami just released his latest game, Ghostwire Tokyo It has been the last work of the Japanese creative together with his studio, Tango Gameworks. The emblematic Mikami has behind him having been the creator of Resident Evil, God Hand or Devil May Cry, a pure talent who also does not mince words when asked. After the release of his last game, Mikami has brought to the fore once more his love-hate relationship with Resident Evil 4, he himself considers that in the fourth game of the saga it is the one in which he put less of himself.
Mikami left Capcom years ago and although Resident Evil 4 it was a resounding success, it seems that he always keeps some distance with this project. He has always fought with the two facets of him within the field of development and creation, being a creative with the soul of a Director or vice versa, without a doubt, pure talent in both fields, but it seems that at a certain point it torments him.
Shinji Mikami’s involvement in Resident Evil 4
About Resident Evil 4; The game where I feel I have put less of myself. The creative Mikami and the producer Mikami. Over time, you end up with a split personality. For Resident Evil 4, I didn’t really stop my frenzy on my own. I wanted a producer to step in and do it for me.
Pioneer of the survival-horror genre, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami shared a few drinks with our own Keiichiro Toyama, reminiscing on the main inspiration leading to Silent Hill.
