Snow back in Belgium: number 1722 activated

The IRM indeed issued a bad weather warning, snowfall and slippery conditions on the roads are to be expected. The FPS Interior therefore temporarily activates number 1722.

The number is provided in case of damage caused by bad weather for which the population needs the assistance of the fire brigade. If citizens wish to do so, they can submit a request via the e-counter www.1722.be or call 1722. The authorities remind that it is only necessary to reach 112 in situations where a life is in danger.

The Royal Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow alert for slippery conditions across all of Belgium except the coast. Nocturnal snowfalls will lead, Friday around 6:00 am, to a layer of snow of 3 to 5 centimeters in the Hautes-Fagnes and 2 to 3 centimeters everywhere else.
