This decision follows the Federal Council decision on Wednesday, according to which masks no longer have to be worn in public transport in Switzerland from April 1, Swiss announced on Thursday evening.
However, the obligation to wear a mask still applies on flights where the regulations of the destination country stipulate wearing a mask on board, Swiss continues. Passengers would be informed of the applicable regulations before departure.
It is currently unclear where the new regulation will come into play. A Swiss spokeswoman confirmed to Blick that return flights to Switzerland cannot automatically be assumed to be in a mask-free zone. The regulation must be the same in both the departure and destination countries so that the mask requirement falls. (man/SDA)
