Jorge Arreaza, former son-in-law of Hugo Chávez, announced this Tuesday that on Sunday, March 27, he married.
“After almost six years together, last Sunday we ratified our union before the law of women and men. Thank you Germania for our family and our love!” Instagram.
Arreaza has been Minister of Communes and Social Movements since March 3.
“I have decided to appoint a colleague with great experience, with a great commitment from the working class (…) That is why I am appointing comrade Jorge Arreaza as the new Minister of Communes and Social Movements to go to the union of the communes, to the union of the working class,” said Nicolás Maduro in an act broadcast by the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
The politician served as foreign minister of Venezuela from 2017 until August, when he became head of the Ministry of Industries and National Production.
Subsequently, at the beginning of December, Maduro announced that Arreaza would be the candidate for governor of Barinas in the repetition of the elections ordered by the Supreme Court of Justice and held on January 9.
However, the former foreign minister was defeated at the polls by the standard-bearer of the Democratic Unity Roundtable, Sergio Garrido.
The Chavista official was married from 2007 to 2017 with Rosa Virginia Chávez, with whom he has a son.
