Foo Fighters cancel their tour after the death of Taylor Hawkins

The American group Foo Fighters confirmed the cancellation of all the remaining dates of their tour, due to the recent death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

Through a statement on their social networks, the band said that they will take the necessary time to mourn the loss of their “brother” and get closer to their loved ones.

“It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates due to the loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins. We regret and share the disappointment that we will not be able to see each other as planned,” the band said.

He added: “Instead, we will take this time to grieve, to heal, to grow closer to our loved ones, and to appreciate all the music and memories we have made together. With love, Foo Fighters.”

The group led by Dave Grohl had also scheduled a presentation at the Grammy Awards, which will take place on Sunday, April 3, however, it has not yet confirmed whether or not it will be at the award ceremony.

On Friday, March 25, Foo Fighters shared the news of Hawkins’ death with their social media followers, minutes before offering a show in Bogotá, Colombia, as part of their tour of Latin America.

“The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the statement read. “His musical spirit and his infectious laugh will live with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, his children and his family, and we ask that his privacy be treated with the utmost respect at this unimaginably difficult time.”

On Saturday, the Colombian Attorney General’s Office shared the preliminary results of the urine toxicology test in a press release on Twitter, indicating the finding of “10 different substances: THC (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids, among others”.

Taylor Hawkins has died at the age of 50.
