The first option considered by the government consisted of paying a cash advance of 3,000 euros which might be repaid no later than September 2022, but penalizing the smallest companies which only renew their stock every two or three weeks and who therefore have bought their last stocks at the old prices. Due to their low flow rates, the small stations therefore had to empty their tanks to restock with fuel sold at a lower price.

But according to La Dépêche, for the aid to be generalized, the measure will finally be extended to stations that sell between 50 and 100 m3 of fuel per month. They will be able to receive an advance of €6,000 to enable them to apply the 18-cent discount on their non-replenished stocks.

According to the adjustment finalized on Tuesday, “The cash advance that will be made to them will allow them to apply the reduction of 18 cents on April 1 without too much trouble in cash since they will be quickly reimbursed for the reduction they will make. The stations will have a loss of cash for a few days while they are reimbursed for the reduction”explains to La Depêche Frédéric Plan, general delegate of the French federation of fuels, fuels and heating (FF3C). “It repairs a hole that there was in the racket”according to our colleagues from La Dépêche.
