Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed the link between Gulf security and Egyptian national security, praising the important role of Qatar in facing the challenges facing the Arab nation.
During his meeting yesterday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Sisi praised the tangible progress in the course of Egyptian-Qatari relations, which would serve the goals and interests of the two countries and peoples, and enhance efforts to maintain security and stability in the Arab region.
The Qatari foreign minister praised Egypt’s pivotal role in the region as a mainstay for the security and stability of the Arab world, praising Egypt’s keenness to strengthen solidarity among Arab countries and push forward joint Arab action.
The minister expressed his appreciation for President Sisi’s efforts to advance joint Arab action and maintain peace and security at the regional level during the current delicate stage in which challenges are growing.
The meeting dealt with ways to enhance bilateral relations at various levels, as well as reviewing the latest regional developments and issues of common interest.
This is the second visit of the Qatari foreign minister since the Al-Ula summit in January 2021. The visit lasted for two days, during which he met on the first day with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, then Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and finally President Sisi.
Qatar intends to inject investments worth $5 billion into Egypt in various projects, the Egyptian Cabinet announced yesterday, following the visit of the Qatari Foreign and Finance Ministers.
The official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Bassam Rady, confirmed that “within the framework of strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, the two sides refer to the agreement on a set of Qatari investments and partnerships” in Egypt with a total value of “5 billion dollars in the coming period.”
