the destination Morocco in the spotlight at the International Mediterranean Tourism Market in Tel-Aviv

Lhe director general of the ONMT Adel El Fakir is presiding over a delegation of around thirty tourist operators taking part in the “Mediterranean Tourism Market” international fair in Tel-Aviv, on 29 and 30 March.

According to El Fakir, the ONMT is going into high gear to promote Morocco as a destination to Israelis. “We are moving up a gear by setting up the milestones for a lasting relationship with all Israeli travel specifiers, by establishing partnership agreements and by launching a major communication and promotion campaign”did he declare.

On the sidelines of this show, the ONMT has deployed for a few days an urban display device in the main arteries of Tel-Aviv in order to promote the destination Morocco.

The Israeli market is a strategic market for the Morocco destination, with approximately 8 million Israelis traveling abroad each year. Israel also has a Moroccan community which now has the possibility of traveling to its country of origin by direct flight, the statement recalls.

For 2022, the ONMT expects 200,000 visitors from the Israeli market. A number expected to grow exponentially over the next few years.

As a reminder, Morocco and Israel are linked by direct air connections operated on the one hand by the national company Royal Air Maroc and on the other hand by the Israeli companies El Al, Israir and more recently Arkia following the signing of partnerships between these companies and the ONMT.
