Andalusia raises its Covid rate to 319.5 and registers 6,568 cases and 23 deaths since Friday

Andalusia has notified this Tuesday a total of 6,568 positives for Covid-19 registered in the last four days, while adding 23 deaths.

According to data consulted by Europa Press at the Institute of Statistics and Cartography of Andalusia (IECA), the rate in the region stands at 319.5 per 100,000 inhabitants, which is up 9.5 points compared to Friday. The rate was not this high since March 1 (339.3).

The Junta de Andalucía has gone on to report twice a week – on Tuesdays and Fridays – on the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the autonomous community, instead of daily as it did until last Friday.

The 6,568 infections this Tuesday are registered following the 5,129 infections on Friday, the 5,433 on Thursday, the 1,350 on Wednesday and the 1,053 last Tuesday.

By province, Malaga continues to be the one with the most positives with 1,732, followed by Cádiz with 1,061; Seville with 977; Cordoba with 797; Almeria with 642; Grenada with 509; Huelva with 429 and Jaén with 421.

Regarding the 23 deceased, eight are in Seville, four in Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva and Jaén register two each and Malaga, one.

Andalusia has registered this Tuesday, March 29, a drop of 31 patients hospitalized for coronavirus compared to Saturday to a total of 551, while ICU admissions have dropped by two to 57.
