A 2nd booster dose against COVID-19 for certain clienteles – CKMN

The Bas-Saint-Laurent Integrated Health Center informs the population that an additional booster dose of a vaccine once morest COVID-19 is now recommended by the Quebec Immunization Committee.

The CISSS thus wants to increase immunity to the COVID-19 virus and in response to the emergence of the new BA2 variant. People aged 80 and over living at home, as well as immunocompromised people aged 12 and over, will be able to make an appointment starting Tuesday to obtain a second booster dose at vaccination clinics. These two groups represent more than 10,000 people in Bas-Saint-Laurent. Appointments will be possible via Clic Santé or by phone at 1-877-644-4545. In addition, mobile vaccination clinics will be held in the 13 CHSLDs of Bas-Saint-Laurent and in nearly 150 private residences for the elderly (RPA) and intermediate resources (IR), from April 4 to 25. These living environments have nearly 6,000 residents. Finally, note that the recommended interval between the first and second booster dose of a vaccine once morest COVID-19 is 5 to 6 months or more and the minimum interval is 3 months.
