Call of Duty: Warzone changed its map a few months ago leaving its original map, Verdansk, completely in the past. Time has passed and the developers of the title referred to it, pointing out that the reason that the game cannot have more maps simultaneously is due to the huge size of the installation.
Through an interview with a streamer (Via PC GAmer), is that the head of Call of Duty live operations, Josh Bridge, pointed out that the team wanted to integrate more maps but the size of the installation was too big.
In December 2021, the Verdansk map was replaced by the Caldera map, and along with it is a smaller ‘Rebirth Island’ map. Given this, he was asked if a map rotation in the game would be possible, to which bridge mentioned that “We want that. We all want that. There’s a glitch: the install and reinstall sizes are insane.”
As he added, by having installations or updates of such large sizes, players are lost, especially if one takes into account that many are from consoles where the available space is much more limited.
It should be remembered that a “Warzone 2” is currently in development, which would arrive at some point next year.
