[풋볼리스트] Reporter In-Hui Huh = It has been argued that Mohamed Salah will not be treated at the highest level at Liverpool.

Salah’s current contract is until next summer. Liverpool are negotiating a new contract to catch Salah, who has scored 20 goals in the English Premier League (EPL) and is leading goalscorer. It is known that there is still a slight difference of opinion between the two sides. Salah are demanding £400,000 a week (regarding 650 million won), while Liverpool are reluctant to pay the highest in the club’s history.

El Haji Diouf, who worked for Liverpool from 2002 to 2005, told ‘Bein Sports’ in the UK, “Sala must realize that she is African. Liverpool won’t treat him like a European, and they won’t sign a top-notch contract unlike other players.”

He recalled what he had been through. “A similar thing happened when I was at Liverpool,” Diouf said. The club even told me not to go back to my country when I was called to the national team,” he explained.

Whether or not Salah will be treated the best has not been decided yet, but there are many evaluations that the current wage is too low for her skills. Salah continued to maintain world-class performance in his last season, scoring 22 goals.

However, it was revealed that he was receiving a salary outside the top 10 in the EPL. The list of players who are paid more than Salah has been released and has become a hot topic. Jadon Sancho, David De Gea, Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba (Manchester United), John Stones, Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City), Timo Werner, Romelu Luka Koo and N’Golo Kante (Chelsea) are in the top 10 salaries.

In particular, among the strikers, Werner has one goal, Cavani has two goals, and Lukaku has five goals. All of them fall far short of Salah’s recent scoring prowess.
