On April 30, 2018, and following a period of early access, The Forest was released. The title took the form of a survival game full of crafting and dangers, but offered the luxury of having a more in-depth narration than usual to maintain attention.

Released at a time when games of the genre were multiplying, The Forest knew how to place itself above the fray by offering a very good balance between exploration, survival and narration. Endnight Games’ title had met with great success, and it didn’t take long for the studio to talk regarding it once more. In effect, at the Game Awards 2019Endnight Games released a trailer, making it possible to formalize the development of Sons of the Forest. The information around the game has been scarce, but it seems that the title has the ambition to bring us back to the island inhabited by terrible creatures, with better equipment. A first release window, located in 2021, had been unveiled, before it was postponed to May 2022.

Unfortunately, it will take wait a little longer than expected before going to unravel the new mysteries of this strange inhabited forest. A few hours before the start of the weekend, the studio took to its Twitter account to announce that the title was postponed to a later date. Now, Sons of The Forest is expected to October 2022at an exact date that remains unknown.

Hello everyone. Over the past few weeks, we have realized that our May 2022 release date for Sons Of The Forest was too ambitious. To be able to deliver our vision for the next stage of survival games, we have decided to move our release date to October 2022.

The studio therefore indicates that it has need more time to finish his new title, announced as more ambitious than the first on many points. Improvements which have not yet been presented in detail, but which will benefit from 5 additional months of development, not to mention the updates that are sure to correct the problems encountered by the title following its release. In the meantime, it is still possible to take advantage of the first opus, currently available on Steam at a price of 16.79 euros.
