Kochi: Dileep appeared for questioning in the case of attacking the actress. Dileep was present at the police club around 11.30 am. The interrogation will be led by Crime Branch DySP Baiju Paul, the investigating officer. The crime branch had issued a notice to Dileep last Thursday asking him to appear at the Kalamassery crime branch office. However, it was postponed to Monday following Dileep reported the inconvenience.
The Crime Branch has prepared a detailed questionnaire including the revelations made by director Balachandra Kumar and the video evidence handed over during the second phase of interrogation. The investigation team has obtained crucial information from the forensic examination of Dileep’s phone. Dileep will face questions related to forensic reports, more statements, and new findings from the two-month follow-up investigation.
This is the first time that the crime branch is questioning Dileep in the ongoing investigation of the case. Dileep was last questioned 63 days ago in a conspiracy case once morest the investigating officers. Dileep appeared as per the directions of the High Court. Following the crucial revelation of director Balachandra Kumar that Dileep saw the footage of the attack on the actress, the investigation team recorded his secret statement and started further investigation. Dileep had approached the high court once morest this but the petition was rejected.
The probe team claims to have received more information regarding Dileep’s role in the conspiracy to destroy the actress and the destruction of evidence. The forensic reports of Dileep’s phones will be crucial in the interrogation.
