Canada qualifies for the 2022 World Cup after an absence of 36 years

Today, the Canadian national team qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, beating its Jamaican counterpart 4-0, to return to the senior championship following an absence of 36 years since its first participation in the World Cup Mexico 1986.

The Canadian team raised its score to 28 points in the lead and qualified before the last round in which it faces Panama, as it is now 6 points ahead of the United States and Mexico, who meet later in the day with Panama and Honduras, respectively, according to the BN Sports website.

Sail Larren opened the scoring in the 13th minute and Tajon Buchanan added the second goal in the 44th minute, before Junior Hewlett added the third goal in the 83rd minute, then Adrian Mariappa fourth by an own goal in the 89th minute of the match that took place in Toronto.
