A simple Renault Clio RS at the price of a new Porsche 718 Cayman, really? Yes really.
In the history of Renault sports cars, the Clio V6 retains a special place. Produced in less than 3,000 units between 2000 and 2005, this very special version of the French city car had a V6 installed in the rear central position, developing 230 then 255 horsepower in its second version. An extremely rare car whose rating has literally soared on the collector’s car market in recent years, with examples sometimes exceeding €80,000.
But the red Clio below is not a V6. This is a simple second-generation Clio RS, a model developing the respectable 182 horsepower that then rivaled the Peugeot 206 RC. Sold in England, it is more precisely a copy of the Trophy series limited to 550 copies in the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Chassis number 1/550 and displaying a mileage of only 26,000 kilometres, this red Clio has changed owners for the modest sum of €54,160!
The price of a real new sports car
Add a few thousand euros to this price and you can buy an Alpine A110 or a new Porsche 718 Cayman. A record price for a Clio RS on the collection market.
