The Andalusian PSOE advances in the relaunch of the Alfonso Perales Foundation, a commitment of the general secretary of regional training, Juan Espadas, with the appointment of the former president of the Board Rafael Escuredo as the highest representative of this entity, which is committed to becoming ” a benchmark space for strategic discussion of ideas and search for solutions to community problems, as well as a center for research, training and dissemination”.
This is how the party highlights it in a statement, in which it explains that Escuredo, a benchmark in the defense of autonomy, will lead this new project that advocates the creation of a bank of good practices of socialist governments, as well as a commitment to attracting and disseminating talent through its own study program open to citizens, in addition to cadres and militants.
Along with Escuredo, the Board of Trustees of the Alfonso Perales Foundation has also appointed the president of the Andalusian PSOE, Manuel Pezzi, as executive vice president and former parliamentarian Pilar Navarro as secretary of the entity. The nine patrons of the foundation are completed with the professor of Constitutional Law and former president of the Consultative Council of Andalusia, Juan Cano Bueso; the deputy spokesperson for the Socialist Group in Parliament, María Márquez; the journalist and member of the Blas Infante Foundation Enrique García Gordillo; the Secretary of Municipal Policy for Large Populations of the PSOE-A, Isabel Ambrosio; Senator Miguel Ángel Heredia and Magdalena Cantero, the first woman to chair the Social Council of the University of Almería (UAL).
Likewise, the entity has approved its new statutes adapted to the current reality, which will now be sent to the Board of Trustees of the Andalusian Foundations, in addition to a new action plan. This new strategy includes the implementation of a new training plan for the leadership of Andalusia, the commitment to the study of civic Andalusianism, municipalism and openness to citizenship.
The foundation will pay special attention to studying and disseminating the complex history of Andalusia, the struggle to achieve democracy and freedom, and the enhancement of the role of municipalism in the progress of the community.
Study sessions will also be held on issues such as the role of young people in current politics or the rise of authoritarian populism in the Spanish and Andalusian political scene, as it affects the fundamental principles and values of coexistence, such as democracy, equality, solidarity, tolerance, or pluralism.
The new project of the foundation places special emphasis, in addition, on the continuous training of public officials. With ethics and progress as axes, the political leadership school will facilitate the creation of a space that encourages the transmission of experiences and training among those who are part of the PSOE and also among those who are outside the organization but have much to contribute.
Thus, a powerful digital platform will be created for training, at the same time that it will also be carried out in person, favoring practices and dynamics that broaden knowledge and experiences. Among the topics that will be addressed are public management, change processes, the 2030 Agenda, communication or equality as a cross-cutting theme.
