DUBAI, March 26 / WAM / The 5-year-old country grammer, owned by his owner, Amr Zidan, from Zidan Racing Stables, Winstar Farm, the Commonwealth crossbred led by veteran Italian jockey Frankie Dettori, and under the supervision of Bob Baffert .. took first place in the main half of the Dubai World Race For horses, in its twenty-sixth edition, which was held for purebred horses, of the first category, for a distance of 2000 meters on the sand track, in which 10 of the elite race horses in the world participated.

The prize pool for the global event was $30.5 million, of which $12 million was for the main round.

“Country Grammer” finished the race in a time of 2:04:97 minutes, and won the first place prize of $ 6.96 million, while the English pony “Hot Rod Charlie” led by Flavin Pratt, under the supervision of coach Doug O’Neill, came in second place and a financial prize of $2.4 million.

In third place came the Japanese horse Showa Wizard, owned by Shinobu Nakanishi, under the supervision of coach Ryuji Okubo and led by jockey Yuga Kawaga, to win a financial prize of $1.2 million.

While the fourth place went to the American horse “Live Is Good” of Winstar Farm and China Horse Club, under the supervision of trainer Todd Pletcher and led by jockey Erad Ortiz J. R., and received a prize of $600,000.

With this victory, veteran Italian jockey Frankie Dettori, 52, captain of the horse Country Grammer, the 2022 Dubai World Cup champion, achieved a double historical achievement following raising the number of his titles in the main half of the Dubai World Cup to 4 titles throughout his history, equaling the number recorded in the name of the retired American jockey. Jerry Bailey, who had won the Dubai World Cup 4 times.

Dettori, who is described as one of the best and most famous professional jockeys in the world, had previously won the Dubai World Cup in three previous editions, all with Godolphin horses and the world coach Saeed bin Suroor, and that was in the years: 2000 when he scored the best time in the history of the Dubai World Cup , with the legend “Dubai Millennium”, and the second time in 2003 with the Irish pony Moon Ballad, and the third in 2006, with the horse “Electricianist”, before achieving his fourth historic title this year in the twenty-sixth edition of the 2022 Dubai World Cup.

And the circumstances decided that Dettori would participate in the Dubai World Cup in the current edition by chance, following jockey Martin Dwyer was injured in the United Kingdom last week, which prompted William Muir, supervisor of Country Grammer, to use Dettori’s efforts.
