A motorist voluntarily knocks down a cyclist in Roeselare because he wanted to “do something against overcrowding”

The 21-year-old motorist deliberately hit the victim because he was “angry with society” and wanted to “do something regarding overcrowding”, the West Flanders prosecutor’s office reported on Saturday. The victim is seriously injured but his life is not in danger. The facts occurred on Friday around 6 p.m., when the motorist suddenly deviated from his route and hit the sixty-year-old who was riding on a cycle path. The driver then committed a hit-and-run but the facts were filmed by a witness.

The perpetrator tested positive for drugs following being arrested by the police, he did not know the victim.
