At the end of 2021 it came to light that Sony is working on a video game subscription service for PlayStation, that is, a rival of its own for Xbox Game Pass. Now, everything seems to indicate that this service, known for now by the code name of “Spartacus”, will be presented very soon, sometime in the next few days.

Some details of how this service would work, in addition to its possible announcement date, have been revealed in a report by Bloomberg by journalists Jason Shcreier and Takashi Mochizukiwho constantly release advance information on the video industrygames. According to the report, Sony would present its service next week, that is, in the last days of March and the first days of April.

Spartacus, as it is known until now but will not be its official name, will be the evolution of PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now under the same service, and will offer “a large number of successful video games from recent years,” according to the source of the report. In addition, the service will offer different subscription levels, some including modern and classic games from various PlayStation eras, and even access to demos extended games and the possibility of streaming titles. However, Sony will not offer its newest and “triple A” titles, such as the new God of War Ragnarök, from the day of its launch. Those games and mega productions will continue to be available only for sale, although they will surely come to the service over time, in the same way that many exclusive PlayStation games have reached PS Plus following some time.

Next week we should know exactly what this service will look like and hopefully we will also know its price and the date it will be available.[via[víaBloomberg]
