Bogota police reveal cause of death of Taylor Hawkins

This day, according to Colombian media reports, the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá gave a preliminary report on the cause of death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, which occurred at the Hotel Casa Medina.

The institution, in a statement collected by El Tiempo de Bogotá, stated: “The cause of death is yet to be established, according to versions of relatives, the death might be associated with the consumption of narcotic substances. SIJIN laboratory and investigators travel to the scene of the events for the development of urgent acts”.

Unofficially, it is indicated that Hawkins had chest pain, before which an ambulance was called, but the musician died before help arrived.

His death occurred just hours before the group was to perform at the Estéreo Picnic festival in the Colombian capital.

The Americans had played just a week ago, on Friday the 18th, at the closing of the first night of the Lollapalooza Santiago festival. There he starred in one of the most emotional moments of the evening, when he got rid of his drumsticks and drums, he went to the front, sang a cover of Somebody to love of Queen and shook the Bicentennial Park of Cerrillos.

After Chile, the group’s next step was Lollapalooza in Buenos Aires, where they were on Sunday, March 20. It was his last concert with the group.

Before the band’s presentation at the Festival Estéreo Picnic, the organizers announced to the attendees the cancellation of the band’s presentation with the following message:

The group also had agreed to appear this Sunday 27 at the Lollapalooza festival in Brazil.
