60-year-old Swiss dies in paragliding accident

Friday around 2 p.m., a paraglider lost his life following falling regarding 10 meters.

For now, it’s hard to say exactly what happened. The first elements collected indicate that the paraglider who died on Friday around 2 p.m. following an accident encountered difficulties shortly following takeoff. He then fell violently to the ground from a height of regarding 10 meters. Despite the intervention of witnesses on the spot and then of help, this 60-year-old Swiss resident in the district of Morges might not be saved.

The service prosecutor opened an investigation, entrusting the investigations to the specialized gendarmes of the mountain platoon. This accident required the intervention of an Air Glacier helicopter, an ambulance from the Rescue and Emergency Center of Nord Vaudois et de la Broye, the ESU (Emergency Support Team) as well as 3 Vaud Gendarmerie patrols.
