The Apple TV app is now available on professional televisions Philips MediaSuite, devices that are often found in hotels or conference centers. More than 180,000 televisions have been sold in Europe since their launch, and Philips has contracts with many hotel chains around the world.
PPDS, Philips’ partner in the hotel market, explains that it has partnered with Cupertino to offer the Apple TV app. The company justifies this decision by the boom in video streaming: the global market was estimated at 50.11 billion dollars in 2020. If Apple TV+ is not at the level of Netflix or Disney+, it remains a big fish that it is always good to propose to its customers.
Once the Android system is updated, TVs that are already running will be able to download the application. Customers will be able to log in to their Apple TV+ account and find their content on the big screen while on the go. Of course, they will have to subscribe to the service on their side, but it will be possible to subscribe directly from the Apple TV app.
