Invasion of Ukraine: they request the displacement of a key man of Cristina Kirchner and pro-Russian in the Foreign Ministry

The bloc of national deputies of the Civic Coalition today presented a project in which he cites the Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero to go to the Chamber to provide explanations regarding the formation of the position of the Argentine Delegation at the Sessions of the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, March 23.

The block of legislators of the CC proposed that the Chancellor must explain the sending of a reserved cable from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Argentine Delegation to the United Nationsin which he urges support those resolutions that failed to condemn the responsibility of the Russian Federation regarding the illegitimate invasion of Ukrainian territory and the humanitarian crisis it has unleashed.

This became known through a publication of the Infobae site, in which a series of confidential documents was exposed that was sent by an official loyal to Cristina Kirchner and once morest the decision of the Casa Rosada to condemn Russian actions in Ukraine.

The responsible official is Secretary of Foreign Relations Pablo Tettamanti, who would have sent said cable recommending omitting the condemnation of the invasion, contradicting the position set by the Minister of Foreign Affairs himself. The CC asks for his displacement.

“The actions of the Secretary constitute a dishonor to the position he occupies and is of unusual gravity in the current geopolitical context. and that can lead to serious consequences for our country and the region”, maintain the deputies of the CC in the foundations of the initiative.

As well Cafiero is asked to explain the participation of Tettamanti and the Permanent Representative of Argentina to the UN, María del Carmen Squeff, in the formation of the position of the Argentine Delegation, and if it has instructed summary information or if it adopted or will adopt disciplinary measures regarding the actions of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

“The actions carried out by Secretary Tettatmanti put the historical State policy sustained by our country under unjustifiable prejudice, reason why it is appropriate that he be relieved of the position he occupies and of all representation of the Argentine State”, they add from the CC.

Both projects were prepared by Maximiliano Ferraro and are accompanied by the signature of the national deputies Juan Manuel López; Paula Oliveto; Mariana Stilman; Monica Frade; Ruben Manzi; Carolina Castets; Mariana Zuvić; Leonor Martinez Villada; Marcela Campagnoli and Victoria Borrego; all members of the CC bloc.
