IFFK 2022 | Gold ring for Clara Zola; Poultry is the best popular movie; IFFK completed

Thiruvananthapuram: The 26th Kerala International Film Festival (IFFK 2022) has come to an end. The Costa Rican film ‘Clara Sola’ won the Golden Chakoram Award for Best Film at the festival. The film is directed by Natalie Mesant. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh, a plaque and a certificate. Inസ്s Maria Marinova, who directed ‘Camila Comes Out Tonight’, won the Silver Medal for Best Director. The Tamil film ‘Koozhangal’ was selected as the best popular film. The film won the Jury Award along with the Audience Poll Award and the Netflix Award for Best Asian Film.

The FIPRESCI Award for Best International Film goes to You Receive Me, directed by Dina Amer. The FIPRESCI Award for Best Malayalam Film goes to RK Krishanth’s Habitat. The film also won the Netflix Award for Best Malayalam Film. The FFSI KR Mohanan Award for Best Debut Director in India was shared by Prabhash Chandra, who directed I Am Not the River Jhelum, and Tara Ramanujan, who directed Nishidho. The award was presented by Culture Minister Saji Cherian at the closing ceremony in Nishagandhi. The closing ceremony was inaugurated by Finance Minister KN Balagopal under the chairmanship of Saji Cherian.

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was the chief guest at the function. D Suresh Kumar, Jury Chairman Girish Kasaravalli, Chalachithra Academy Chairman Ranjith, Cultural Department Principal Secretary Rani George, Academy Vice Chairman Prem Kumar and Academy Secretary C Ajoy were present.

T Padmanabhan wants Homa committee report to be released

Storyteller T Padmanabhan says that the culprit who attacked the actress should be punished no matter how big.
