University students march through different cities of the country demanding to increase the amount of the Junaeb scholarship, along with requesting the resignation of the director of the organization.
university students responded to the call of the Confederation of Students of Chile (Condate) and gathered to march in the most important cities of Chile.
The reason for the protest is the freezing of the amount of the Higher Education Feeding Scholarship (BAES), also called junaeb scholarshipwhich in the last 10 years has not changed from the $32 thousand monthly.
For the same reason, they demand the resignation of the director of the National Board of School Aid and Scholarships, Jaime Tohawho has been in his position since the second term of Michelle Bachelet.
Santiago
In the capital, young people seek to reach the Ministry of Education to deliver a letter with their demands.
The university students were joined by other two protests of high schools and feminist movements that had been organized for the same time. The latter also went to the Ministry of Education to deal with complaints of sexual harassment and abuse in schools.

Valdivia
Students from the Austral University of Chile in Valdivia, in the Los Ríos region, began a march that started at the university, heading towards the downtown area of the city.
They then arrived at the Los Ríos Presidential Delegation, where they requested to meet with the authorities.
Osorno
In Osorno, students attended the summoned march, mobilizing between Ramírez and Portales streets.
The mobilized young people go to the Provincial Delegation, where they tried to enter. They were finally arrested.

Montt port
In Puerto Montt, capital of the Los Lagos region, university students mobilized in the commune square and then moved to Antonio Varas street.
Later they moved to Serena street and then to Benavente street, to reach Junaeb’s offices.
During the march there was an altercation between the students and a driver, which ended with the young people kicking the vehicle.
