Farewell FIFA 23, make way for EA Sports FC this year? | Xbox One

Rumors have been hovering around the name of the next EA football game for several months now. The cause ? A colossal increase in official license usage costs of FIFA. FIFA would just have new plans to use its license and during this time, EA seems to have found the name of the successor to its famous saga of football games.

EA Sports FC : Could the heir to the FIFA saga take over this year?

The evocation of the name EA Sports FC is not new since the latter had already surfaced at the beginning of October 2021 and it had even already been recorded. Nevertheless, the next opus was generally discreet before seeing it reappear with new information at the very beginning of March. In particular, it should offer a 100% cross-play formula as well as optimized animations, but what regarding its name?

It is the journalist and insider Jeff Grubb who just returned yesterday with unpublished information during the latest episode of his Grubbsnax podcast. The latter said that EA Sports FC would indeed be the name of the next football games developed by EA as shown the UK Intellectual Property Office page. The choice of this change of name was notably motivated by the colossal increase in the cost of using the FIFA license. Faced with this, the company preferred to invest in the development of its game and innovations rather than in an official license.

At the same time, the International Federation of Football Association would be determined to exploit its independence since it would have already updated the details of its registered trademark by including the term “video games”. According to Grubb, FIFA might develop its own football game.

Recent events in the world of football games are likely to mark a turning point. EA Sports FC should be unveiled during the summer and the competition should be increasingly tough with the notable arrival ofUFLa title that will be offered free-to-play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S starting this year.
