Commentators Kevin Patrick and Byron Saxton welcome us to today’s edition of the WWE Main Event from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois. We start directly with the first match!
1. Match
Singles Match
Veer Mahaan defeated Joe Alonzo via submission following a choke.
Match time: 4:10
– Finally it will happen. On April 4th Veer Mahaan debuts on Monday Night RAW!
Our first recap of the night features excerpts from Friday Night Smackdown. Roman Reigns spat big tones as Brock Lesnar was apparently absent. Paul Heyman repeatedly interrupted Roman and told him that Brock Lesnar was probably on his way to the arena. The two then fled, together with the Usos, from the ring in the direction of the underground car park. Once inside the car, Brock Lesnar used a forklift to ram the car and yank out a door with his bare hands. Arriving in the ring with this door in hand, Lesnar announced revenge on Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 38.
Next, we see Ronda Rousey interrupt Charlotte Flair’s promo. This led to a brawl in which Ronda Rousey was poweredbombed through the commentary box.
We see the end of the match of RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) vs. The Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). The champions won but were then attacked by the challengers. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) made the safe only to then attack Riddle himself.
Returning to Smackdown, we see Shayna Baszler and Natalya also make it to the Women’s Tag Team Title match at Wrestlemania.
Then there is a flashback to Austin Theory and Pat McAfee. McAfee should apologize, which he did in his own style.
2. Match
Singles Match
Cedric Alexander defeated T-BAR via pin following a roll up.
Match time: 10:24
– By Main Event standards, it was a surprisingly long but really good match.
On Monday Night RAW, AJ Styles was interrupted by Seth Rollins. After it didn’t work for Kevin Owens, a match was also scheduled here, so that Rollins would compete in Wrestlemania 38 instead of AJ Styles in the event of a win once morest Edge. During the match, Edge came out and attacked Styles, resulting in a disqualification. Edge thinks it’s important that he’s up once morest AJ Styles. Next week Seth will not allow RAW to take place if he doesn’t get a moment at Wrestlemania.
