sweeteners, alternatives to sugar, do they promote cancer?

A study of over 100,000 adults. Researchers from Inserm (Medical Research Institute) have compared groups of French people who never consume sweeteners with others who consume them regularly but at low doses. Results : the latter have more than cancers colon, mouth or larynx.

This epidemiological study shows that there are more cancers in people who take sweeteners. Nevertheless, further studies are needed to establish a causal link.

So is real sugar “better” than fake? sugar ? The authors of the study believe thatwe should get rid of the sweet taste and this, from an early age. For this, they want their work to encourage health agencies to change the rules so that manufacturers reduce the quantities of sweeteners which are added to the products.
